Mirror Tape Application Instructions:

  • It is essential that consistent pressure is used when applying pressure sensitive adhesive systems to substrates such as mirrors and glass.
  • Apply the tape at ambient temperatures. Slightly increased temperature will also help with initial grab.
  • Surface preparation is also very important for reaching the required adhesive bond.
  • Please read our Surface Preparation and Application Guide below for more information and tips.
  • If you need any more help with applying our mirror backing tape then please contact our friendly customer services team.

Adhesive Tape Surface Preparation & Application Guidelines:

As with all Tape products, please ensure the surfaces to be bonded are Clean, Dry and Dust Free . Surface contact is very important to adhesive performance. It is vital that the surfaces are suitably prepared and the tape is applied in the correct way. Cleaner surfaces will result in a better adhesive bond.

Surface Preparation

Ensure that all surfaces need are clean and dry, removing any moisture, grease, dust or debris. We recommend using that IPA to clean the surface, which you can also purchase from us if required. Using tissue paper, wipe the surfaces in one direction only to avoid recontamination of the surface. Apply the tape at ambient temperatures for best results and to avoid contamination.

Tape Application

It is important that pressure is applied to secure the required bond when applying the tape to the surface. Time and temperature also play a part in the strength of the bond, and adhesive strength will increase over a period of time.
